The Coaching Manual is proud to announce that it will be hosting a special Easter camp in partnership with Blantyre Soccer Academy in Scotland.
Blantyre Soccer Academy is a Platinum Legacy Award Club with around 600 playing members, and more than 100 volunteer members and coaches. The ages of the players range from 4 all the way up to 60+ and includes girls teams, walking football teams, and Para teams.
The Coaching Manual camp will run from April 1st - 4th at Newton Farm Community Wing, Cambuslang, with hot meals provided for all children, with fruit being provided by McDonalds at Hamilton Retail Park in Strathclyde. The event has been made possible through Blantyre receiving the Extra Time award from the Scottish FA. All the spaces have been filled and there are expected to be more than 100 players in attendance.
The event will also feature an opportunity for players and coaches to learn from The Coaching Manual's top tier coaches including Premier League Academy coach Lee Fletcher, who will provide a classroom session for coaches during an evening of coach education during the camp.
A guest speaker from Blantyre's partners Keep The Heid will be in attendance at the Coach Education evening to explain a little about what they do and the importance of their work. Keep The Heid Mental Health Cafe is an informal but structured discussion group for people living with mental health problems in and around Blantyre and Hamilton.
Blantyre Soccer Academy has been running since 2010 and has continued to build year on year. As well as providing a pathway for players in the area, the Academy also runs a variety of community projects including employability programmes, Holiday Hunger, a men's mental health and wellbeing group, and many more.
Blantyre Soccer Academy Chairperson Jimmy Whelan said: "We at Blantyre Soccer Academy are delighted to welcome TCM on board to partner us in the delivery of our Easter camp.
"This partnership will prove to be innovative in the development of our participants with coaches from major EPL clubs - bringing a new dimension to our already flourishing in-house coaching methods."
